Jenny and Adam! Where do I even start? Jenny has been an honorary member of our family for nearly (or already?!) twenty years! She's traveled from her California home to spend time with our Nebraska family for birthdays and holidays and vacations over all of these years. What are the chances that she would meet a Nebraska boy out there on the West Coast? Well, she did! Not only is Adam from Nebraska, he has *central* Nebraska connections as well! I was so excited to be able to take their engagement photos while they were in the midwest for a visit. And I'm even more excited to head out to California this summer for their wedding!

In the middle of this endless winter, we managed to score a beautiful spring evening. Whitney and Heath have a contagious joy and love for each other. I don't think we stopped smiling and laughing for the whole session. It was super fun to explore some parts of Custer County and to also spend some time at Heath's parents' property. It is so special when couples select locations that are meaningful to them and their relationship!

Living in the middle of Nebraska, with family and friends traveling from all over the Midwest, it was a legitimate concern that the weather would prevent important people from being at our wedding. We had a blizzard the weekend before and a blizzard the weekend after, but New Years Day of 2010 was blessedly free of snow. However, I had a bit of an oversight with my request: I failed to ask that the weather would be snow-free AND warm. We ended up shivering through a day that never reached above 1 degree!

As a January bride, I have a soft spot in my heart for winter weddings. Brian and Anna were married in a small, intimate ceremony at the Arrow Hotel in Broken Bow. December gave us a beautiful sunshiney afternoon to spend a little while taking photographs around downtown, one of my favorite places to take photos! Brian and Anna kept everyone laughing during their portraits and I think that's a direct indication that they are headed for a joy-filled marriage. Thanks so much for allowing me to celebrate with you! And thanks to Tauni Morris for her exellence assistance.
